CABOCHONS
Many of the non- precious cabochons in Amy's designs are cut and polished by her husband, Tom. Beginning with a rough stone or slab, Tom will cut out a basic shape followed by progressive steps on the grinding wheels. A final polish is achieved with a polishing wheel. Each stone is composed of different minerals requiring different methods to achieve a pleasing shape and luster. Some of the stones used are Picture Jasper, Laboradite, Mexican Crazy Lace Agate, Tree Agate, Onyx, Picasso Stone, Sodalite, Rhyolite, and many others.
GLASS CABOCHONS
One of the most talented glass artists I have had the pleasure of working with is Bethany Adams of Gwacie Beads. Her glass beads are fun and colorful and so expertly done. We share a common love of color and are in the process of collaborating on some new designs, challenging each other to further stretch our creative abilities.Click on the images below to view my new pieces.
